About Okren

Intelligence and authority are different jobs.

Okren exists so institutions can let AI do more with money, and still decide where it stops.

Our story
Someone asked: what if I gave you $1 million?

We had built an AI that made real financial decisions in live markets. Then came a simple question.

It was never whether the AI could trade the money. It was whether the money would always stay inside boundaries set by a person, even while the AI decided faster than any person could review.

Making the intelligence smarter would not answer that. Something separate had to supervise what it was allowed to do.

That became Okren. It does one job: check every proposed move against limits people have defined, before the money moves, and keep the record of what happened.

The question was no longer whether we trusted the intelligence. It was whether we could trust the authority around it.

Okren was founded by Freddie Brown.

Mission

Let institutions give AI more financial responsibility without giving up control.

Worldview

What we believe about AI and money.

AI should not authorize itself.

The system that proposes a move can't be the one that approves it.

Silence is never permission.

If no one has answered, the move waits. Nobody objecting doesn't mean it was allowed.

People set the limits.

Your institution defines what AI may do. Okren applies it the same way, every time.

Understanding is not authority.

Okren can watch before it answers, and answer before its answers are binding. Authority is granted on purpose.

Every decision leaves a record.

What was proposed, which limits applied, what Okren answered and why should be reconstructable afterwards.

Start small. Let evidence decide.

Begin with tight limits, watch what happens, and widen only when you're confident.

What Okren is not

One job, done independently.

Not an AI model

Okren doesn't make the decisions your AI makes. It checks whether a proposed move is allowed.

Not a risk or fraud engine

Risk scores answer a different question. A low-risk move can still be one you haven't authorized. Okren applies your limits and doesn't replace your risk systems.

Not your payment system

Okren doesn't move money. Your financial system executes.

Not a compliance function

Okren doesn't replace your compliance team, and it doesn't imply regulatory approval.

The people

Real people are behind this.

Okren is built by a small team in the Netherlands. Freddie Brown, founder and CEO, is the person behind it, and you can reach him directly.

AI moves money. Okren supervises.

Give AI more financial responsibility without giving up control.
